Prof. Bronwyn Laycock

Professor Bronwyn Laycock is a polymer scientist at the University of Queensland with extensive experience across academia, industry, consulting and CSIRO. She is Deputy Director of the ARC Training Centre for Bioplastics and Biocomposites. Her research focuses on sustainable polymers and circular-economy materials, including bio/degradable polymers, biocomposites, biodegradable packaging, polymer lifetime prediction, end-of-life technologies, controlled-release systems and polyurethane chemistry. Her work strongly aligns with ICAN 2027 themes in sustainable composites, polymer processing and real-world translation. She also has a strong commercialisation record, including award-winning contributions to CSIRO’s extended-wear contact lens technology and licensed degradable polyethylene films.
